Since July 1, the period of maternity leave will be counted toward the insurance period. This is the director of the Department of Pension and Social Security Disability Nicholas Shambir.
According to him, the corresponding rule is provided by the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to Some Laws of Ukraine regarding appointment and indexing of pensions.”
“From now on compulsory state pension insurance must be women who are on maternity leave and get help. This period will be counted in the length of service in the appointment of their pensions, “- he said.
Shambir noted that the issue of enrollment in the insurance period when they are in leave due to pregnancy and childbirth debated since 2004. But only now, thanks to the direct assistance of the Minister of Social Policy of the Royal Natalia, a compromise was reached, as suits the government side and the trade union and employers, according to UNN.
“To this norm was launched, the Parliament amended the law on the collection a single social contribution (ERU). According to the insurance premium for the period of stay in the maternity leave will be paid by the employer on the basis of the assessed amount of benefits for pregnancy and childbirth: ERU in this case will be 33.2% of this amount. Along with this will be deducted from the workers 2% from the amount of benefits for pregnancy and childbirth “, – explained the innovation expert.
